The Vallejo Sanitation and Flood Control District is performing CCTV inspections on pipes that do not have a record of such inspections. This effort was triggered by a settlement with Baykeeper, who alleged that broken pipe or pipe about to collapse would remain undetected and lead to sanitary sewer overflows. The actual result of the CCTV inspection turned out to be quite different. Instead of broken pipe, what was discovered were issues of collection system maintenance criteria and database management.
